Did you know these cool facts about Game of Thrones

One of the biggest television show in the world, Game of Thrones Season 8 – the final season is taking the internet by storm with some interesting and weird fan theories and spoilers. Well, the White Walkers have breached the Winterfell’s walls. The Battle of Winterfell, the battle between the living and the dead, will be one nerve racking and one with many loses. Peter Dinklage already hinted that it’d make the Battle of the Bastards look like a theme park. Well, we’ve got four excruciating days to wait until the third episode of GoT Season 8 airs on coming Sunday. Till then, Scoopyowl brings to you these mind blowing Game of Throne Facts that every super GoT fan must know!

  1. Tyrion Lannister is George R. R. Martin’s favorite character. Tyrion has appeared in 61 episodes in the series, the most out of any other character. Peter Dinklage was George R.R. Martin, David Benioff, and D.B. Weiss’s first and only choice for the role of Tyrion Lannister, youngest son of Tywin Lannister. Dinklage was probably the reason Lena Headey got the role of Cersei, as he recommended her to David Benioff and D.B. Weiss, having previously worked together on other projects. Also, Peter Dinklage was once in a punk band called Whizzy in the ‘90s.

2. Gwendoline Christie aka Brienne of Tarth says she once broke the Iron Throne while sitting on it. Her explanation? “I’m a whole lot of woman.” Also, Brienne is a rare virgin in the sexually charged world of Thrones. Her fellow guardsmen in Renly’s army had a standing wager regarding who would be the first to take her virginity. No one won.

3. Actresses Maisie Williams and Sophie Turner who play the role of Arya Stark and Sansa Stark respectively (Stark sisters), have matching tattoos of the dates when they landed their GoT roles. They have got “07.08.09” inked on their forearms. Also, Arya Stark is Maisie Williams’ first onscreen role.

4. As a memento of her time on Thrones, actress Sophie Turner kept Sansa Star’s corset and a scroll she uses as a prop in the final episodes. Also, in the show, Sansa Stark’s dire wolf Lady met an untimely death, but in real life, Lady’s doing much better especially after Sophie Turner adopted the Mahlek Northern Inuit Dog who played her.

5. It is reported that the stars of the show, Kit Harington (Jon Snow), Emilia Clarke (Daenerys), Lena Headey (Cersie Lannister), Nikolaj Coster-Waldau (Jamie Lannister) and Peter Dinklage (Tyrion Lannister) each make $500,00 per episode. But those paychecks are most likely much fatter for the final season.

6. In the TV show, Daenerys Targaryen is famous for her long, gorgeous, silver hair. However, in the book, A Song of Ice and Fire, the character is as bald as a mole rat. Daenerys hair was burnt off (along with her clothes) when she walked into Khal Drogo’s funeral pyre. Also, Emilia Clarke, is a natural brunette. Her hair for the character was created using wigs and sophisticated hair makeup artists so that she did not have to change or damage her hair for the show.

In 2012, 146 babies were named Khaleesi, beating out more common names like Betsy and Nancy.

7. Kit Harington and Rose Lesie, aka Jon Snow and Ygritte in the show, got married to each other on June 23, 2018 in Scotland. They fell in love while playing the dynamic couple on-screen. Kit popped the question in September of 2017.

8. Kit Harington auditioned for Jon Snow with a black eye. The actor got into a fight at McDonald’s the night before, after a guy was rude to the woman he was dating. He tried out for GoT the next day, and apparently the bruise helped his case. Also, Kit fell asleep while filming Jon Snow’s dead scenes.

9. Lena Headey used a body double (her stand-in, Rebecca Van Cleave) in Cersei’s walk of shame in the Season 5 finale.

10. The phrase “game of thrones” is said only once on screen, and the speaker is Cersei Lannister. “When you play the game of thrones,” she says, “you either win or you die.”
